Rui Guerra is a physicist with a focus on the use of optical measurements in agriculture and agronomy. Its academic foundation includes a PhD in Plasma Physics, a master’s degree in particle physics, and a bachelor degree in physics. Thro his career, he has devoted himself to advancing research in optical diagnostics, with a specific emphasis on light dispersion and its applications in biology.
Its particular area of interest is the non-invasive assessment of internal quality parameters in fruits, such as soluble solid content and firmness, using diffuse spectroscopy. In general, his research revolves mainly around industrial applications, and I work closely with industrial partners.
Together, they successfully develop systems for the classification of fruits based on their internal quality attributes, either manually or by automated means.
